SHE DEVIL MUNTREF – Museo delle Arti Visive apertura mostra: mercoledì 9 agosto 2023 chiusura mostra: dicembre 2023 SHE DEVIL - BIENALSUR 2023 Muntref-Museo de Artes Visuales, Buenos Aires a cura di BIENALSUR e STUDIO STEFANIA MISCETTI She Devil è il nome di un’eroina della Marvel, una delle prime protagoniste che infrange i ruoli stereotipati della femminilità. Ispirata dallo spirito malizioso, irriverente e incisivo di Shanna, SHE DEVIL è un collettivo curatoriale femminile in espansione. La prospettiva di genere è definita dal tema scelto per ogni edizione: il corpo, il potere, la lotta, lo specchio. Ogni curatrice seleziona un'opera audiovisiva, che introduce con una breve descrizione. Tutte le partecipanti esaminano e discutono insieme i lavori delle artiste invitate dalle colleghe, secondo un formato che ricorda i salotti femminili del XIX secolo. All'epoca, l'ambito domestico era lo spazio principale per l'educazione politica delle donne, escluse dai dibattiti pubblici. SHE DEVIL ci ricorda che il modello del salotto e l'incontro informale rappresentano ancora uno strumento di empowerment che opera attraverso "la femminilizzazione della conversazione come pratica intellettuale, artistica e politica". Nelle sale del MUNTREF Museo de Artes Visuales, BIENALSUR presenta una selezione di 14 video del progetto SHE DEVIL, che offrirà una lettura trasversale delle sue diverse edizioni. Alla fine del percorso, saranno presentati due video in loop che riassumono ogni edizione e nell'auditorium sarà proiettato un loop con video storici parte delle varie edizioni. Infine, in linea con la costante espansione di SHE DEVIL, il progetto in Argentina incorpora nuove voci: quattro curatrici del team di BIENALSUR invitano quattro artiste locali a presentare il loro lavoro. SHE DEVIL MUNTREF – Museo delle Arti Visive opening mostra: wendsday 9 august 2023 closing mostra: dicember 2023 SHE DEVIL - BIENALSUR 2023 Muntref-Museo de Artes Visuales, Buenos Aires curated by BIENALSUR and STUDIO STEFANIA MISCETTI She Devil is the name of a Marvel heroine, one of the first protagonists to break the stereotypical roles of femininity. Inspired by Shanna's mischievous, irreverent and incisive spirit, SHE DEVIL is an expanding female curatorial collective. The gender perspective is defined by the theme chosen for each edition: the body, power, struggle, the mirror. Each curator selects an audiovisual work, which she introduces with a short description. All the participants examine and discuss together the works of the artists invited by their colleagues, in a format reminiscent of the women's salons of the 19th century. At the time, the domestic sphere was the main space for the political education of women, who were excluded from public debates. SHE DEVIL reminds us that the drawing room model and the informal meeting still represent a tool for empowerment that operates through "the feminisation of conversation as an intellectual, artistic and political practice". In the rooms of the MUNTREF Museo de Artes Visuales, BIENALSUR presents a selection of 14 videos from the SHE DEVIL project, which will offer a transversal reading of its different editions. At the end of the route, two loop videos summarising each edition will be presented and a loop with historical videos from the various editions will be projected in the auditorium. Finally, in line with the constant expansion of SHE DEVIL, the project in Argentina incorporates new voices: four curators from the BIENALSUR team invite four local artists to present their work. Tarara significa Ararat al contrario, siamo in terra armena e l'Ararat, montagna leggendaria e tuttora simbolo principale dell'Armenia, rimane nel paesaggio ma irraggiungibile perché fuori dai suoi confini, dopo il genocidio del popolo armeno da parte del governo turco.Tarara è un buon suono per camminare. Incontro Gohar Martirosyan, un giovane artista locale, a Gyumri e decidiamo di fare una performance insieme camminando fino alla cima del Monte Aragats, che in seguito diventerà la montagna più alta dell'Armenia.In questa camminata ho inserito un gesto semplice, prendendo in prestito un rituale precristiano chiamato "monosandalismo". Si trattava di un rito di iniziazione, che poteva riferirsi al confine tra il mondo dei vivi e quello dei morti, o al momento di transizione da uno stato di disordine a uno nuovo di equilibrio. Indossare il piede destro, lasciando il sinistro scoperto, nel pensiero greco del dualismo, dove destra/sinistra sono collegati alla duplicità bene/male, associava il lato sinistro alle entità sotterranee, stabilendo un rapporto con la terra e quindi con le potenze degli inferi. Il piede destro con il sandalo rappresentava la protezione. Salire su una delle cime del Monte Aragats era come incontrare le quattro stagioni, una dopo l'altra, calpestando prati, rocce, acqua e neve. L'inquadratura si concentra sulla parte inferiore delle gambe ripresa da dietro, evidenziando il ritmo ipnotico dell'andatura.

Tarara means Ararat in reverse, we are in Armenian land and the Ararat, a legendary mountain and still the main symbol of Armenia, remains in the landscape but unreachable because outside its borders, following the genocide of the Armenian people by the Turkish government.
Tarara is a good sound for walking.
I meet Gohar Martirosyan, a young local artist, in Gyumri and we decide to do a performance together walking to the summit of Mount Aragats, later to become the highest mountain in Armenia.
I included a simple gesture in this walk, borrowing a pre-Christian ritual called "monosandalism". It was an initiation ritual, which could refer to the boundary between the world of the living and the dead, or to the moment of transition from a state of disorder to a new one of balance. Wearing the right foot, leaving the left bare, in the Greek thought of dualism, where right/left are connected to the good/evil duplicity, associated the left side with the subterranean entities, establishing a relationship with the earth and therefore with the powers of the underworld. The right foot with the sandal represented protection.
Climbing up to one of the peaks of Mount Aragats was like encountering the four seasons, one following the other, trampling meadows, rocks, water and snow. The shot focuses on the lower legs filmed from behind, highlighting the hypnotic rhythm of the gait. The camera movement is uncoordinated but consistent with the gait and the uneven surface of the mountain.
