Tarara significa Ararat al contrario, siamo in terra armena e l'Ararat, montagna leggendaria e tuttora simbolo principale dell'Armenia, rimane nel paesaggio ma irraggiungibile perché fuori dai suoi confini, dopo il genocidio del popolo armeno da parte del governo turco.Tarara è un buon suono per camminare. Incontro Gohar Martirosyan, un giovane artista locale, a Gyumri e decidiamo di fare una performance insieme camminando fino alla cima del Monte Aragats, che in seguito diventerà la montagna più alta dell'Armenia.In questa camminata ho inserito un gesto semplice, prendendo in prestito un rituale precristiano chiamato "monosandalismo". Si trattava di un rito di iniziazione, che poteva riferirsi al confine tra il mondo dei vivi e quello dei morti, o al momento di transizione da uno stato di disordine a uno nuovo di equilibrio. Indossare il piede destro, lasciando il sinistro scoperto, nel pensiero greco del dualismo, dove destra/sinistra sono collegati alla duplicità bene/male, associava il lato sinistro alle entità sotterranee, stabilendo un rapporto con la terra e quindi con le potenze degli inferi. Il piede destro con il sandalo rappresentava la protezione. Salire su una delle cime del Monte Aragats era come incontrare le quattro stagioni, una dopo l'altra, calpestando prati, rocce, acqua e neve. L'inquadratura si concentra sulla parte inferiore delle gambe ripresa da dietro, evidenziando il ritmo ipnotico dell'andatura.

Tarara means Ararat in reverse, we are in Armenian land and the Ararat, a legendary mountain and still the main symbol of Armenia, remains in the landscape but unreachable because outside its borders, following the genocide of the Armenian people by the Turkish government.
Tarara is a good sound for walking.
I meet Gohar Martirosyan, a young local artist, in Gyumri and we decide to do a performance together walking to the summit of Mount Aragats, later to become the highest mountain in Armenia.
I included a simple gesture in this walk, borrowing a pre-Christian ritual called "monosandalism". It was an initiation ritual, which could refer to the boundary between the world of the living and the dead, or to the moment of transition from a state of disorder to a new one of balance. Wearing the right foot, leaving the left bare, in the Greek thought of dualism, where right/left are connected to the good/evil duplicity, associated the left side with the subterranean entities, establishing a relationship with the earth and therefore with the powers of the underworld. The right foot with the sandal represented protection.
Climbing up to one of the peaks of Mount Aragats was like encountering the four seasons, one following the other, trampling meadows, rocks, water and snow. The shot focuses on the lower legs filmed from behind, highlighting the hypnotic rhythm of the gait. The camera movement is uncoordinated but consistent with the gait and the uneven surface of the mountain.
